Fatty liver disease NAFLD (Non- alcoholic Fatty Liver disease). Name has been misleading, it should be metabolism associated fatty liver disease. Caused by something wrong with metabolism. Major precursor is improper diet.
1 billion people are suffering from this fatty liver, that’s terrible. But more terrible part is that every day, more and more children are being diagnosed with fatty liver disease or metabolism associated fatty liver disease. Chronically elevated insulin will cause insulin resistance, you end up with pushing more fat in the liver, that’s no more debating now a days. If you are type 2 diabetic, you have 40-80% chance of having fatty liver disease, 50 % of them can progress to NASH (NON- ALCOHOLIC STEATOHEPATITIS- liver fat plus inflammation)
Why we should be more careful?
Fatty liver is now one of the leading causes of liver failure, and one of the common reasons for liver transplant. It’s even more dangerous than alcoholism and overdosing of drugs or hepatitis. Fatty liver is 100% preventable and curable if you do the right things, choose the right food and frequency of food with which you eat in a day.
How to fix it?
1. When you stop overfeeding, your liver automatically starts getting healthy. It’s not about what you add, fixing fatty liver is what you subtract, what do you stop putting into your system. Stop fructose, sugar, starches and simple carbs. They are poisoning your body and making your liver and pancreas fatty. It will make your fatty liver worse. Carbs in vegetables are so locked up with fibers and are blended with vitamins and minerals. These carbs are acceptable and are filled with nutrition. But starches from any grain will make your fatty liver worse.
2. Stop vegetable oil. They inflame your liver, making fatty liver worse.
3. Vitamin D. Low vitamin D is associated with fatty liver disease.
4. Omega 3 fatty acids. Walnuts, almonds, butter, egg yolk, fish must be part of healthier diet.
5. Supplement is waste of money. Don’t buy pills, none of the stuff will be going to help your fatty liver. If you don’t fix your diet today, you may end up with Liver transplant someday. Every time you eat or drink, you are either feeding disease or fighting it.
