journey to diabetes

Looking at liver function is a good place to begin. I become fascinated by physiology and what is interesting about hormone insulin is: – one of major things that insulin does is pushing glucose into cells. If it’s the muscle cells, they use that glucose for energy. It’s good but many of the times, this extra glucose is pushed into abdominal fat, and this is the mechanism of fatty liver I am discussing about. This fat is turned into triglycerides.

So, what a link Glucose>insulin> triglycerides >abnormal liver function test >cardiac problems. Insulin does one more funny thing, it holds on to Na and it holds on to salt. When you go low carb, you go low insulin, and you lose the Na you build on. Blood pressure drops. It’s interesting but nobody talks about it.
